Monifieth Amateur Dramatics is proud to sponsor an exciting Youth Theatre for local children in S1 and above.
We offer an engaging and positive programme that allows our young members to meet new people, perform and develop a knowledge and understanding of theatre practice.
We welcome all young people with an interest in theatre or performing to come along and join us every Monday from 6.30pm - 8pm.
The group is run by a number of volunteers who have various levels of experience in amateur or professional theatre.
Monifieth Youth Theatre was formed in November 2009 by Derek Stewart.
In early 2010, Sean Dowling took over as leader before stepping down in 2013. From 2013 to 2014, Libby Barton and Lesley Doig took over the helm and had a successful
run of shows, including: "The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe" and "The Great Gatsby".
Steven Armstrong took over and performed two fantastic shows - Johnny and the Dead and TOAST! From 2016-2018 Iona Stewart and Shona Smith took over and performed Dining to Die, Inspector Drake and the Perfekt Crime and the first Youth Group Showcase.
In 2019 they performed The Blue Electric Wind
Our current youth group is run by Steven Armstrong and Kennis Lowe
